Questions Answered in Episode 32
In this episode we answered the following questions:
1. Debby Heath www.debbyheath.com.au
“There are so many counselling and psychotherapy books I want to read; and forums, podcasts, blogs and user groups that I follow, but have trouble keeping up with. Do you have any suggestions on how to manage ‘information overload’?” Thank you. Debby
2. Gabby
“I am new to the field after completing a diploma in counselling. I have joined an office within a health care centre in a shopping centre. I’ve been offering free short consults to patients referred by the physio and other practitioners in the health centre, but I find after I book them in for the free consult they don’t show. This is really frustrating. The other challenge is most people where I live expect to receive free counselling sessions or rebates from seeing a Psychologist, so I just feel like I’m fighting a losing battle. The college where I studied made it sound like there were lots of jobs for counsellors, but my experience when I apply for local jobs is no-one is interested in a counsellors with a diploma and they mostly want Psychologists or Social Workers. So my question is, what should I do to try and get my business off the ground?”
3. Yoli Cadet
“Is it a good idea to start your website by purchasing a free website builder, or should I purchase a domain?”
